When we look at the life of Moos Cohen, relatively little material is available. Of course there is his work. Then we see observations he made of people and nature. Moos Cohen is born in Tiel on March 4, 1901. He wanted to become a rabbi, but still chooses for a life as an artist. He starts his studies at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, where he will also live aftherwards. Moos Cohen is assassinated in Auschwitz on November 7, 1942. Besides the Jewish Museum in Amsterdam, the museum in Tiel also has some of its works. In the exhibition we show the work he made in Tiel and the immediate surroundings. The exhibition takes place in the gate room which is specially decorated around the consequences of the second world war in Tiel.
